Public Communication Policy
The Public Communication Policy of the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) guides the University’s communication plans, objectives and actions. It was drafted by journalist Moacir Loth in 1987.
In essence, the policy “prioritizes concrete facts, the Institution’s achievements, in short, news content, grounding the work of the UFSC Communication Agency (Agecom) on the rules of journalism and the codes of ethics for Journalists and Public Servants.” Communication is understood as comprehensive, strategic, integrated and planned. It serves as a bridge between UFSC and its internal and external communities, while responding to institutional, public and collective needs without personal or ideological restrictions.
